Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17
Nittany Valley Sports Center | 177 Champion Drive, Suite 300 | State College, PA 16803

IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ

IN ORDER TO REGISTER, you must have qualified for the state championships by placing TOP 4 at one of our qualifying tournaments
throughout the spring.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURES: ATHLETES MUST BRING THEIR USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIP CARD (EITHER A PHYSICAL OR
ELECTRONIC COPY) IN ORDER TO RECORD THE WEIGHT AT THE SCALE.

An athlete competing in two styles may weigh in once for both styles. This is contingent on the athlete actively competing in the first of
two wrestling styles scheduled. Athletes competing in one style must weigh in at the official weigh-in for that style. All athletes must be present
at the BEGINNING of weigh-ins. All wrestlers weighing in must be in the weigh-in area by the beginning of the posted weigh-in time and must
remain in the area until he/she has weighed in. Each athlete gets two straight weigh-in attempts and MUST STAY IN THE AREA. The second
attempt will take place at the LAST CHANCE SCALE in the weigh-in area. All wrestlers must be dressed in a COMPETITION SINGLET for
weigh-ins and no weight allowance is given for the singlet.

After your athlete weighs-in, you will receive an email through your USA wrestling membership email with your athlete’s weight from
the scale. Please confirm your athlete’s weight, if there are any issues, please report the head table ASAP. Check your junk email if
you did not receive an email.

Any wrestler(s) who fails to comply with the following rules, will not be allowed to weigh-in, thus will also not be allowed to compete:
o Scratch weight for all divisions, no allowance.
o Athletes must weigh in wearing an unaltered competition singlet.
o NO WEIGHT CHANGES at the state tournament; this causes the bulk of the delays in our starting times. Wrestlers missing
weight will be removed from the tournament, no exceptions.

o Wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling card to scan at the scale for officials to input the correct weight.
o Parents/coaches cannot accompany the wrestlers in weigh-in location.
o No weight reduction practices shall be allowed once weigh-ins begin.
o Athletes must be present in A COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical
officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.

Once an athlete enters the weigh-in area they have two (2) consecutive attempts to make weight. If they are over after the two (2) consecutive attempts, then they will have option to move up a weight class if there is a higher weight class within their respective division. Athletes are not allowed to leave the weigh-in area or re-weigh later even if there is another weigh-in time scheduled. All wrestlers must be dressed in a COMPETITION SINGLET for weigh-ins, and no weight allowance is given for the singlet.

ALL GRECO weights will be FLAT WEIGHT

ALL FREESTYLE WEIGHTS at the State Championships will be +2 from advertised weight classes
(example: 16U Girls 100, weigh-in is 102).

NOTE: - WEIGHT CLASSES WILL BE USED FOR 8U, 10U, and 12U!
If weights do not provide sufficient matches for athletes, PAUSAW reserves the right to use "Madison-style" brackets based on a 10% weight
differential. Our first priority will be to group the same age group to get them matches.

Each wrestler will have the right to refuse the merger and movement but will not wrestle in the event and forfeit their entry fee. In the event there
are not enough competitors to make a 5 person bracket within a division, mergers with other age or experience levels may be required to
guarantee matches.

Tournament organizers will make merger decisions based on age, experience, and weight to ensure a competitive, fun, and safe environment.
Competitors will be notified if they are moved into a different bracket and have the right to refuse to compete.
